Caryn Ward Ross

 

Actress/Producer/Writer Caryn Ward Ross is a Los Angeles, California native.  Growing up dancing and acting as child actor, Caryn starred along  Debbie Allen and Gene Anthony Ray in the hit television series FAME. Caryn went on to star in other shows in the 1990’s,  most notably as Nell Carter’s daughter in the short-lived sitcom series YOU TAKE THE KIDS on CBS.

Caryn’s  more recent television credits include guest starring and recurring roles on such hit shows as “The Game”, (CW/BET), Entourage” (HBO), “Jane The Virgin” (CW), and “Lucifer” (FOX). Caryn is a series regular “Grown Folks” from creator Bentley Kyke Evans ( “Martin” and “The Jaime Fox Show”),  and recurred on the comedy series “Fameless” on TruTV from executive producer David Spades.

Currently, Caryn is the Executive Producer of the hit drama series, “Craig Ross Jr’s Monogamy,” on UMC.tv (now owned by AMC Networks), of which she also stars in the ensemble series.

A professionally trained dancer, Caryn was accepted into the prestigious Alvin Ailey Dance Academy in NYC, and has danced on stage, screens, or video with Janet Jackson, Usher, Arsenio Hall, and Rosie Perez.

Caryn Ward Ross serves on the board of advisors for the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Ward Ross is a graduate of Howard University, and  the founder of the Creative Institute of Los Angeles.

In 2017, Caryn won the “Best Actress” Award from the LA-Web Festival for The Other, a cineme’ verite feature film written and directed by Mr. Ross and shot entirely on the iphone 5. 

Caryn loves her husband, their most amazing two daughters, their two animal babies, and chocolate chip cookies. Ferociously.
