Joie-May Silvers

Joie-May was born influenced by the high vibrational field of the Agape International Spiritual Center, where her mother is a minister and practitioner. Michael Beckwith, the founder and spiritual director of Agape, is her godfather.

She was the youngest child to join the Agape Youth Choir at age 3. Her first performance was in a PBS televised Christmas concert at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Joie-May has subsequently performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen Degeneres Show, was a vocalist on a Google commercial with Will I Am as well as on one of his singles. She was a vocalist in the PSA, Change My World, for the 2008 election.

In addition to being a vocalist on music videos, she has performed at live award shows + special events, which have included singing solos for a crowd of 500,000 people at The March For Our Kids event and televised on CNN.

 Joie-May has performed in Akuyoe Graham’s (another featured guest on Birthing A New World) Spirit Awakening Foundation’s 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 events. She sang with Jason Mraz at The Freedom Awards, in the California Dreamin Campaign with Michelle Philips, at the Agape 25th Anniversary Celebration (singing an original song she wrote with her dad about her heritage), the Peace Now Spirit Music Festival, and other Agape events, including a recent Christmas Eve special event. She was the recipient of the prestigious 2019 Walden Awards. 

Her dad, John Silvers, is a motivational speaker and singer/songwriter. Her grandfather, Arthur Silvers, was a civil rights leader and activist. He was President of C.O.R.E in Los Angeles and leader of NAACP in Santa Fe, N. Mexico.
