Reverend Kevin Kitrell Ross

 

 

The Reverend Kevin Kitrell Ross is a south side Chicago native who now serves as the Senior Minister of Unity of Sacramento, the first Unity church in the State of California.

He is regarded as a respected interfaith social justice leader, committed to building bridges of understanding and cooperation across race, culture, class and religious lines.

Whether in his role leading one of our nation’s most diverse and integrated congregations, conducting diversity and implicit bias experiential trainings for faith, and governmental organizations, or being an outspoken activist for healing the crisis between law enforcement and communities of color, Rev. Ross is dedicated to strengthening communities through dialogue, direct encounter, and education.

Rev. Ross’ mission has taken him throughout the United States and to 5 continents as a keynote speaker, a panelist and facilitator, sharing the stage with such luminaries as the late President Nelson Mandela, His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, Ambassador Andrew Young and Dr. Marion Wright Edelman, Senator Kamala Harriss and Ellah Gandhi.

Rev. Ross is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Executive Member of the Association for Global New Thought, a member of the Interfaith Council of Sacramento, a four-time delegate to the Parliament of the World’s Religions, and a founding member of Project LEAD (Law Enforcement Accountability Directive).

Rev. Ross is a Morehouse College graduate, the recipient of numerous awards including two humanitarian awards and he has appeared in national magazine and television shows, including being an invited guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Ross is married to Anita Ross, the founder of Women for Equality and together, they have three children and reside in Elk Grove, California. They are both committed to building a world that works for all.
